On Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, a significant event unfolded at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, as Vice-Chancellor Professor Charles Okechukwu Esimone, FAS, laid the foundation stone for the Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and Diplomacy.

In a ceremony filled with anticipation and pride, Professor Esimone expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Emeka Anyaoku, GCON, for his generous endowment towards the institute. He also took a moment to commend the Director of the Institute, Professor Au Nonyelu, for his exceptional leadership and dedication in driving the project forward. "I'm truly impressed by the progress made thus far and extend my appreciation to Chief Anyaoku for his trust in our capabilities. Professor Nonyelu's leadership has been instrumental in ensuring transparency and efficiency throughout this endeavor," Professor Esimone remarked.

Professor Nonyelu provided insight into the expansive scope of the institute, outlining plans for over 12 classrooms, approximately 16 offices, a cafeteria, an open court, and a 1,000-seat auditorium. He reassured attendees that progress is well underway and affirmed the commitment to meeting the December deadline. "We are making remarkable strides, and I have full confidence in our ability to deliver as promised," Professor Nonyelu affirmed.
