Director of Information SUG at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of imposing the winner of the 2023 Presidential Election on the masses.

The Director of Information SUG at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of imposing the winner of the 2023 Presidential Election on the masses.

In an exclusive interview with MyschoolnewsTv, the director stated that the conduct of the election by INEC was poor and resulted in the disenfranchisement of voters.

"The election was marred by irregularities, including ballot box snatching, violence, and the imposition of the winner on the people," he said.

The director called on INEC to improve its conduct of elections and ensure that the will of the people is respected.

"The integrity of our electoral process is paramount to the growth and development of our democracy. INEC must take necessary steps to ensure that the electoral process is free, fair, and credible," he added.

The statement also urged Nigerians to remain peaceful and law-abiding, while calling on relevant authorities to investigate and prosecute perpetrators of electoral violence and malpractices.

It can be recalled that the 2023 General Election was held on Saturday, February 25, across Nigeria, with Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) declared the winner of the presidential election by INEC.
