Usmanu Danfodiyo University Implements Ban on Tinted-Glass Vehicles to Enhance Security
The directive comes on the heels of recent security incidents near the university community. Additionally, suspected thieves targeted the school's mini-market, leading to the theft of properties owned by shopkeepers.
In response to the prevailing security challenges, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has enacted a ban on tinted-glass vehicles from accessing any of its campuses. The decision, outlined in a circular dated November 30th and signed by the university's Chief Security Officer, Col AV Gwandu (rtd), is effective immediately.

The circular, addressing staff, students, and the general public, emphasizes the university's commitment to enhancing the safety and security of all individuals within its campuses. The ban specifically targets vehicles with tinted glass, and the security division has been instructed to enforce the restriction at various entrance points.
The circular reads, "To this end, the University has decided to impose, and hereby imposes, BAN ON ALL TINTED-GLASS VEHICLES Within all its campuses." It further specifies that vehicles with tinted glass will not be permitted beyond designated entry gates.

"All Staff, Students, and the General Public are hereby put on NOTICE that the BAN is with immediate effect. The cooperation & compliance of all and sundry are hereby solicited."
The prohibition on tinted-glass vehicles is part of a broader set of additional security measures adopted by the university in response to the current security situation in the country.
