The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilesa, Prof Taiwo Asaolu, has expressed concern over the unrestricted access of herders and illegal miners to the university campus in Ilesa, Osun State. Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of the Faculty of Nursing Laboratory Building, Prof Asaolu highlighted the challenges posed by the lack of perimeter fencing, allowing miners and herders to enter the campus freely.
During the event, which was financed by the Ijesa community, Prof Asaolu acknowledged the support of the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, while calling for further assistance from well-meaning individuals to improve the quality of education at the institution.
