The Rotary Club of Lagos, District 9110, organized a one-day painting competition for students of Eko Akete Senior School and Lafiaji Senior School in Lagos State as part of its efforts to promote art and teamwork among young people.

The event, held on the club's Vocational Service Day, aimed to unlock the healing power of art and enhance students' communication and collaboration skills through collaborative painting sessions.

Led by the Club's President, Major General Abiodun Role (retd.), the competition saw students divided into 10 groups, where they engaged in creative painting activities. Each group worked together to create meaningful artwork on their respective canvases.

Kusi-Uko highlighted the therapeutic benefits of artistic expression for relaxation and stress relief, underscoring the significance of art as a form of treatment. She expressed the club's commitment to inspiring the next generation through art and promoting teamwork as a valuable skill for navigating challenges in society.

The event received positive feedback from participants, including Chiamaka Eze, a student of Lafiaji Senior High School, who described it as an educational experience that enlightened her on the importance of teamwork. Eze expressed interest in pursuing painting professionally, inspired by the knowledge gained from the event.
