Productive youths have been highlighted as crucial to the development of society by the Vice-Chancellor of Sule Lamido University (SLU), Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai. During a meeting with the Kafin Hausa Unity Forum, Professor Yakasai emphasized the importance of youth engagement in educational and entrepreneurial activities for societal growth.

The meeting, held in the Vice-Chancellor’s office, saw the Chairman of the Kafin Hausa Unity Forum, Comrade Abdullahi Sulaiman, congratulating Professor Yakasai on his recent appointment. Comrade Sulaiman expressed the Forum's desire to strengthen the existing relationship between the University and the Kafin Hausa community. He outlined the Forum's objectives, which include promoting unity, emphasizing the importance of education to the youth, and seeking developmental projects for the community.

Comrade Ahmad Ibrahim, Chairman of the Forum's Central Working Committee, advocated for the enhancement of SLU’s School of Preliminary Studies (SPS) and its programs, stressing their significance to the local community and the state. He also called for a collaboration between the Forum and the University's School of General and Entrepreneurship Studies (SGES) to provide vocational training for the youth in Kafin Hausa and the broader state.

In response, Professor Yakasai commended the Forum’s efforts to promote education among the youth. He reiterated the University's commitment to not only teaching and research but also community service and development. Professor Yakasai pledged to enhance entrepreneurship development and skill acquisition programs through SGES, targeting youth in Jigawa. Additionally, he announced plans for a public awareness campaign to highlight the importance of the SPS and its offerings, seeking the Forum's collaboration for effective outreach.
