Vice-President Shettima To Deliver Al-Hikmah Varsity Convocation Lecture As 26 Bag First Class

Nigeria’s Vice-President, Sen. Kashim Shettima is to deliver the 13th Convocation Lecture of the Al-Hikma University, Ilorin.

This is as 26 bagged First Class Honour for the 2022/2023 academic sessions.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Noah Yusuf disclosed this on Monday during a pre-convocation press conference of the University at its Adewole campus in Ilorin.

Vice-Chancellor said 472 graduands bagged Second Class Honours Upper Division and 600 Second Class Lower Division and 109 Third Class.

In the Postgraduate category, he said 27 would graduate with Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), two Master of Philosophy (M.Phil), 211 Master’s Degrees, and 105 Postgraduate Diploma (PGD).

According to him, 31 students graduated with diplomas, making the total number of 1,583 graduands for the session.

One of the Ph.D, the vice-chancellor of the University said, was the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

On the uniqueness of this year’s convocation of the first Islamic Faith-based University in Nigeria, Prof. Noah said, “This year’s convocation will take place at our permanent site at Atere Campus which sits on 113.4 hectares of land and we are graduating the highest number in the history of the institution.

“At the same time, we are not relenting on the quality of personality we used to bring as convocation lecturer and this year, we will be hosting Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Kashim Shettima who will be doing justice to the topic ‘“Addressing Nigeria’s Food Security Challenge Through Hi-Tech Approach: The Role of Nigerian Universities’.

Prof. Noah made know that the activities of the event had commenced on the 2nd of December with Health Walk which attracted a large turnout of staff and students
