Yobe State University Announces Public Holiday for New Islamic Calendar Celebration

Yobe State University has announced a public holiday on Monday, July 8, 2024, to commemorate the beginning of the new Islamic calendar.

This follows the Yobe State Government's declaration of the day as a public holiday.

According to a circular signed by the Deputy Registrar (HRDD), Mohammed Mala Waziri, staff are encouraged to use the opportunity to pray for peace and a bumper harvest. The university community is expected to observe the holiday accordingly.

The circular was copied to the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Registrar, Bursar, Provosts, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and all notice boards.
