Yobe State University Teaching Hospital Achieves Full Accreditation

The Yobe State University Teaching Hospital (YSUTH) in Damaturu has secured full accreditation from the West African College of Physicians (WACP) to train 25 resident doctors in its Community Medicine Department.

Governor Mai Mala Buni announced this achievement on April 22, 2025, describing the accreditation and completion of the facility as "monumental achievements" that will enhance manpower training and improve healthcare delivery in the state.

The accreditation follows a WACP team assessment visit from November 11 to 14, 2024. Governor Buni's administration constructed the department, and the accreditation is seen as a significant milestone in enhancing healthcare services in Yobe State .
