Youth Thrive Initiative (YTI) honours FULafia VC Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Youth Thrive Initiative (YTI), has presented a Certificate of Honour to the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman.

The certificate of honour was in recognition of Abdul Rahman's immense contribution to good governance, students empowerment and for being a students-friendly leader, the YTI said.

The certificate presented to the vice-chancellor partly read: "In recognition of your immense contribution to humanity with absolute fairness and welfare of youths, irrespective of race, gender, ethnicity and religion and Nigerians in general.”

The certificate was given to Abdul Rahman in his office by the National President of YTI, Comrade Ponzhi Nancwat Dashe.

Comrade Dashe said that the YTI had closely studied the administration of the vice-chancellor, adding: “We are satisfied by your performances and achievements.”

The president informed the vice-chancellor of the activities of the group which, he said, included promoting peace, unity, good governance and championing causes of youths, especially in northern Nigeria. 

Receiving his certificate of honour, Abdul Rahman thanked the organisation for identifying with him and said: "Team work among members of staff were behind my success.”

He challenged leaders to improve on their advocacy, stressing that the nation and the world would be a good place to live if “we all play our parts dutifully.”

Others who accompanied the YTI national president on the visit were Comrade Yakubu Aishat Abdulwahab and some executive members of the organisation.
