13-year-old Alena Analeigh has secured her place in history as the youngest African-American girl admitted to a medical school in the United States. Alena's extraordinary journey began when she gained admission to the University of Alabama Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine at the tender age of 13, setting her on a path to become a Medical Doctor by the age of 18.

In a groundbreaking achievement, 13-year-old Alena Analeigh has secured her place in history as the youngest African-American girl admitted to a medical school in the United States. Alena's extraordinary journey began when she gained admission to the University of Alabama Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine at the tender age of 13, setting her on a path to become a Medical Doctor by the age of 18.
Remarkably, Alena had already made headlines at the age of 12 when she gained admission to Arizona State University to study Engineering. After a year of rigorous studies, she made a pivotal decision to switch her career trajectory, opting to pursue her passion for medicine.
Taking a full course load at both Arizona State University and Oakwood University, Alena demonstrated exceptional academic prowess. In just one year, she completed two and a half years of college-level study in Engineering. Expressing her determination, Alena shared, "I really want to leave my mark on the world and lead a group of girls that know what they can do."
Alena's journey began with aspirations of becoming an Engineer, envisioning herself at NASA. However, a newfound passion for biology altered her course. "It actually took one class in engineering for me to say this is kind of not where I wanted to go. I think viral immunology really came from my passion for volunteering and going out there engaging with the world," she explained.

Known for her brilliance and adaptability, Alena initially aspired to be an astronomer but transitioned to engineering due to her love for building things.
