In an extraordinary achievement, Daya Brown, an 18-year-old from Atlanta, has secured admission to more than 50 prestigious universities in the United States, accompanied by scholarships exceeding $1.5 million. Her remarkable success is a testament to her dedication and strategic approach to the college application process.

Daya, a former student of Westlake High School, began her college application journey with a focus on securing a bright future while alleviating financial burdens for her family. She expressed that her primary objective was to ensure her parents would not need to resort to student loans to finance her education.

Daya's journey to this exceptional accomplishment began during her sophomore year, while in quarantine. During this time, she meticulously curated a list of universities that offered programs in mass communications or film, matching her academic and career aspirations.

She then delved into extracurricular activities, recognizing the importance of showcasing more than just academic excellence. "I think a lot of people think that if you're smart, you can't be cool. So I found a way to showcase brilliance and still have fun while you're doing it," Daya shared.

Out of her 50 university acceptances, including notable institutions such as Duke, Spelman, FAMU, and Hampton, Daya intends to pursue a degree in visual media studies with a minor in journalism at Duke University.
