22 best graduating students receive prizes, certificates at ABU’s 43rd Convocation

 

Twenty two best graduating students have received various prizes and certificates at the 43rd Convocation of Ahmadu Bello University held on Saturday, 27th January.

And a total of 10 different prizes were given to eight best graduating students at the occasion. Of the number, three prizes were given to the best graduating MBBS student, Muhammad Hajara Tom. 

Hajara Tom won the following prizes: Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Kaduna State Prize for Overall Best Graduating MBBS Student, Vice-Chancellor’s Prize for Overall Best Graduating MBBS Student, and Nigeria Health Insurance Agency (NHIA) Prize for Overall Best Graduating MBBS Student. 

She also received the Dean’s Annual Prize Certificate from the University as the Best Graduating Student from the College of Medical Sciences. 

Faculty of Agriculture’s Ahmed Sekinat Oziohu received Abbas Umar Masanawa Prize as the Best Graduating Student from the Department of Agricultural Economics.

Equally, Five Best Graduating students from the Faculty of Engineering clinched various prizes. For example, Nuhu Surajo Umar received “Mai Martaba, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, Sarkin Kano Prize for the Best Graduating Student in Computer Engineering”.

“Engr. Khalil Inuwa Prize for the Best Female Graduate in Mechanical Engineering” went to Sule Sarah Yetu, while “Paul Sunday Achimugu Prize for the Best Graduating Student in Polymer and Textile Engineering” was given to Muhammad Khadijah Gogodai. 

Muhammad Khadija Gogodai also won “Rita Okpuwhara Prize for the Best Graduating Female Student in Polymer and Textile Engineering. Idris Abdulbasit received “Professor Iyam Prize for the Best Graduating Student in Weaving Mechanism”.    

Faculty of Environmental Design’s “Professor W.B. Qurix Prize for the Best All Round Graduating Student in M.Sc. Architecture went to Pwanedo Alson.

Also, a total of 17 Faculties’ Best Graduating Students, including the University’s overall best graduating student, Abuhuraira Mahdi from the Department of Computer Science, received the Dean’s Annual Prize Certificates from the University.
