2,594 graduates from Adamawa State University as 23 bag First Class

The Adamawa State University, Mubi, will on Tuesday be holding the the14th Convocation of the institution where a total of 2,594 graduating students would be conferred academic qualifications ranging from diplomas, degrees, and postgraduate degrees.

ADSU, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, and deputy governor designate, to the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, at a press conference organised to formally herald activities marking the convocation, on Sunday, said the institution would graduate a total of 2,594 graduands at all levels of academic qualifications and degrees.

She also said the former executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND, Prof. Elias Bogoro, would be conferred with the honourary Doctor of Science, in recognition of his sterling contribution to the development of tertiary education in Nigeria.

According to her, for the first degree, the institution has 23 First Class honours recipients.

 She said, “For the first degrees, we have 23 in First Class (Honours) category. In the second class (Honours) Upper Division, we have a total of 635, while the second class (Honours) lower division, has a total of 1,448 graduands. 200 fall under the Third Class (Honour) Category and 18 would graduate with pass degrees. This brings the total number of our first degree graduands to 2,408.

For the postgraduate Degrees, where we have postgraduate diplomas, professional master, Masters with research thesis, Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy respectively, this prestigious University will graduate 186 graduands across our faculties.”
