2,659 NYSC Members Pre-Qualified for NNPC Foundation Business Pitching Exercise

The NNPC Foundation has announced that 2,659 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from across Nigeria have advanced to the final phase of its Business Pitching Exercise. Scheduled from July 2nd to 10th, 2024, this exercise is a key component of the NNPC Foundation’s Financial Literacy Program aimed at Nigerian youths.

The selection process was rigorous, involving over 284,000 corps members who underwent comprehensive training and assessments. Mrs. Emmanuella Arukwe, Managing Director of the NNPC Foundation, outlined the criteria used in selecting the finalists. These included evaluating the feasibility and sustainability of business ideas, market relevance, competitive edge, innovation, scalability, potential community impact, and the entrepreneurial spirit exhibited by the corps members.
“We have identified 2,659 individuals who have demonstrated promising business ideas and readiness to present them to our esteemed panel of assessors,” Mrs. Arukwe affirmed.
The Financial Literacy Program reflects the NNPC Foundation’s commitment to equipping young Nigerian graduates with vital skills for personal and professional growth. By imparting knowledge on financial management and entrepreneurship, the program aims to empower corps members to achieve economic self-sufficiency and contribute meaningfully to society.
