Hundreds of graduates from Ambrose Alli University's (AAU) Medical Laboratory Science department are waiting for certification and professional exam results two years after graduation.
The affected graduates, who completed their studies in the 2019/2020 academic session, have yet to receive their certificates. This has hindered their ability to secure employment or participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
In a desperate plea, a frustrated graduate took to social media, saying, "I have no evidence to show for my degree... It's like I never attended the university."
Fellow graduates echoed similar sentiments, accusing the university management of negligence and indifference. "We've tried reaching out, but they seem unconcerned," one graduate said.
This certification scandal has tarnished AAU's reputation, sparking outrage among students, alumni, and concerned stakeholders. "AAU's recent absence from university rankings is no surprise," an alumnus noted. "Certification is a critical criterion. This is unacceptable."
The university's failure to provide certification and professional exams has raised questions about its commitment to academic excellence.
Affected graduates are urging the university management to address this issue promptly.
