The founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola, SAN has declared that the university is committed to nurturing graduates who will become global reformers and guide Nigeria to its destined future. Babalola stressed that ABUAD graduates are educated to be catalysts of change, ready to make a difference in the world.

The founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola, SAN has declared that the university is committed to nurturing graduates who will become global reformers and guide Nigeria to its destined future. This statement was made during the 9th Induction Ceremony for 95 graduates from the Faculty of Nursing Sciences.

Speaking at the induction of the newly certified registered nurses, Babalola stressed that ABUAD graduates are educated to be catalysts of change, ready to make a difference in the world.  He stated, “Since our inaugural convocation on Sunday, October 13, 2013, we have produced 1,420 graduates. They are not just excelling, but they are also agents and leaders of transformation.”

He further added, “We are the change that will alter the world. We are cultivating a new generation of leaders who will positively transform the world. I urge you to always recall the lyrics of the university anthem, especially as it relates to determination, diligence, philanthropy, and character. With all these attributes, we are on the journey to improving the nation for the better.”

During the ceremony, Farouk Abubakar, the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), represented by Yahaya Sumi, encouraged the inductees to seize new opportunities within their profession and to be exceptional representatives of their careers. He advised, “I encourage you to learn from your experienced colleagues. Be commendable ambassadors of the nursing profession and explore new opportunities.”

In recognition of academic excellence, Afe Babalola awarded a total of N5.5 million to exceptional nursing graduates. The top graduating and best-behaved student, Rosemary Oriwoh Osanudiamen, received N350,000, while the rest of the students and the four male graduates each received N100,000.

Babalola highlighted that his dedication to rewarding excellence is motivated by a desire to promote scholarship and hard work, serving as a lesson and inspiration to others. According to the founder, ABUAD is dedicated to producing graduates who are not only academically outstanding but also embody the values of determination, diligence, philanthropy, and strong character.
