1. UTME Candidates: The Journey Begins

For those embarking on the UTME route, here are the key checkpoints:

  1. Age Requirement: Candidates must have reached the age of 16.

  2. O-Level Results: A solid foundation begins with at least 5 (five) “Cs (Credits)” in the O-Level results. These credits must include English Language, Mathematics, and three other subjects relevant to the chosen course of study. For instance, aspiring medical students must secure a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

  3. JAMB UTME Score: A minimum score of 180 in the JAMB UTME examination is essential.

  4. Post UTME Screening: Candidates must participate in the AAUA post UTME screening examination and perform commendably (specific performance criteria vary based on the chosen course).

  5. Subject Combination: Choosing the correct subject combination aligns with the desired field of study.

  6. Cutoff Marks: Meeting the stipulated cutoff marks for specific courses is crucial for securing admission.

  7. Single Result: Candidates must use only one result—either WAEC, NECO, or GCE. Two sitting results are not permissible.

2. Direct Entry Candidates: A Different Path

Direct Entry candidates follow a distinct route:

  1. JAMB Direct Entry Form: Obtain the JAMB Direct Entry form to initiate the process.

  2. Age Requirement: Candidates must have reached the age of 16.

  3. O-Level Credits: Possess at least five (5) Credits in the O-Level results, including English Language and Mathematics. AAUA does not accept two sitting results.

  4. Eligible Certificates: To apply for Direct Entry, candidates can hold certificates such as OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, or ICAN.
