The Acting Vice Chancellor of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Dr. Samuel Akintunde, has called on alumni to contribute to the development of their alma mater and support the government in enhancing the education sector. Dr. Akintunde made this appeal during the university’s 60th Founder’s Day celebration, where Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye was honored as a Fellow of the University.

Dr. Akintunde emphasized the importance of alumni giving back, highlighting that such support is crucial for addressing the nation’s developmental challenges and appreciating the institution that shaped their careers. The recognition of Dr. Osamaye, a distinguished educationist and gender advocate, underscores her outstanding academic and professional achievements.

Dr. Osamaye, an esteemed member of the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education in Okene, Kogi State, was honored for her significant contributions to education in Nigeria. Dr. Akintunde stated, “It is with great pleasure that we announce the conferment of Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye as a Fellow of Adeyemi Federal University of Education. Her remarkable leadership, scholarship, and service within the education community are exemplary.”

In her acceptance speech, Dr. Osamaye expressed gratitude to the university management and staff for recognizing her efforts. She vowed to continue serving as an inspiring role model and to uphold the values of academic excellence, leadership, and community service.

The investiture ceremony also honored six other eminent personalities, including Oba Ayotunde Olabomi, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji; Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde, MHR, Ondo East/West; Dr. Oyebade, Federal Commissioner and AFUED Alumni National President; Mr. Steve Awosika; Amb. Godson Echegile; and Mr. Segun Adenipekun SAN.
