Chief Afe Babalola, the founder of Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), has awarded N12 million to scholars for their exceptional research outputs and publications in globally recognized journals. During the 2023/2024 edition of the award presentation, Babalola highlighted that he has spent over N350 million since 2015 to support the publication of research in Scopus-indexed journals, aligning with the institution's mission to reform Nigeria’s education system.

Babalola announced that ABUAD has developed its own journal platform, which now holds the same status as Scopus, thereby alleviating the financial burden of publication fees for the university’s scholars.
