The Vice-Chancellor of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, Professor Bayode Isaiah Popoola, has announced that the institution has secured approval for a N2 billion allocation from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for the execution of special intervention projects.
Professor Popoola disclosed this during the university's monthly prayer meeting held on June 1, 2026, where he attributed the institution's recent achievements and steady growth to divine intervention and the commitment of members of the university community.
Speaking at the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor said the university had continued to record progress across several areas despite prevailing challenges, describing the approval of the intervention fund as one of the major milestones recently achieved by the institution.
He commended the organisers of the monthly prayer programme and praised staff members for their consistent participation, noting that the initiative had contributed positively to the university's development.
According to him, the newly approved N2 billion TETFund allocation for special intervention projects reflects the progress being made by the institution and will support ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and other critical areas.
Professor Popoola urged staff members to remain committed to their duties and continue praying for the growth and success of both the university and the nation.

"God is doing something in our lives and in the life of our university. We are making significant progress in many areas, and these achievements are possible because God remains in control," he said.
He further encouraged members of the university community to remain hopeful despite challenges facing the country, stressing the importance of faith, dedication and collective responsibility in sustaining development.
Earlier in his sermon, Pastor Paul Adebayo, a senior member of the university prayer committee, called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in the face of economic hardship and security challenges confronting the country.
The cleric expressed concern over the nation's security situation and urged citizens to seek divine guidance and intervention. Drawing references from the books of Mark, Acts and Isaiah, he encouraged worshippers to develop a deeper relationship with God and remain faithful regardless of present circumstances.
Pastor Adebayo also advised staff members not to lose hope amid current economic realities, urging them to remain patient and committed to their responsibilities.
He emphasised the need to place God at the centre of personal and professional life, adding that patience, faith and proper priorities would help individuals navigate difficult periods.
The prayer meeting, held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium of the university, attracted principal officers, academic and non-teaching staff, heads of directorates, divisions and units, as well as students and other members of the university community.
