Ahmadu Bello Uiversity Inducts 72 Pharmacy Graduates into Pharmacy Council of Nigeria
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, inducted 72 graduates from its Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences into the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) during a ceremony on February 19, 2025.

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has inducted 72 graduates of its Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences into the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN). The oath-taking and induction ceremony took place on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Yusufu Bala Usman Hall.
The Registrar of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, Pharm. Ibrahim Babashehu Ahmed, represented by the Director of Education and Training, Dr. Anthony Idoko, urged the inductees to remain committed to continuous learning as the pharmaceutical industry is rapidly evolving. He also cautioned them against engaging in unethical practices that could violate the professional oath they had taken.
In his congratulatory message, the Vice-Chancellor of ABU, Prof. Kabiru Bala, commended the parents and teachers for their support and sacrifices in ensuring the success of the inductees. He also encouraged the new pharmacists to play an active role in combating drug abuse and misuse, which he described as a major challenge affecting the youth in Nigeria.
Similarly, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Aliyu Muhammad Musa, lauded the dedication and hard work of the faculty staff in training the students. He advised the graduands to prioritize research and apply their acquired knowledge to improve healthcare and society at large.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to outstanding graduates. Pharm. Abifarin Emmanuel Alaba was honored as the Best Overall Student, while Pharm. Umar Fatima Sule received the award for the Best Female Student.
