Ahmadu Bello University Announces New Leadership Appointments

The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Prof. Adamu Ahmed, has approved key leadership appointments across several academic and research institutions within the university.

Prof. Ismaila Dahiru Lawal and Prof. Abulrasheed Ibrahim have been appointed as Provost and Deputy Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, respectively. Prof. Dahiru, a renowned expert in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, brings extensive experience to his new role, having served as Deputy Provost for four years. Prof. Abulrasheed, from the Department of Surgery, is recognized for his administrative and academic leadership qualities.

The Vice-Chancellor has also reappointed Prof. Ado Yusuf and Prof. Yusuf Ahmad Sani as Directors of the Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) and National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services (NAERLS), respectively, for a second two-year term. Additionally, Prof. Hassan Mohammed Rabiu has been appointed as Acting Director of the National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI) for six months. Prof. Haladu Isa Bayero has been reappointed as Chairman of the Staff School Management Board for another two-year term.

The Vice-Chancellor charged the newly appointed and reappointed officials to build on their past achievements, drive academic excellence, and contribute to the university's vision of innovation and institutional growth.
