Ahmadu Bello University Appoints Prof. Adamu Ahmed as New Vice-Chancellor

Professor Adamu Ahmed has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) by the institution's Governing Council. The announcement was made at 6:15 am on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, during the 209th (Special) Council meeting .

Professor Ahmed, who teaches at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He previously served as the Director of the university's Directorate of University Advancement and is currently the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kano.

As the 14th Vice-Chancellor of ABU, Professor Ahmed is expected to build on the institution's rich legacy of academic excellence and research innovation.
