Ahmadu Bello University Senate Approves Higher Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas for 277 Candidates

The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has approved the award of higher degrees and postgraduate diplomas to 277 candidates across 14 faculties. These faculties include Administration, Agriculture, Arts, Business School, Clinical Sciences, Education, Engineering, Environmental Design, Law, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine.

Additionally, the Senate approved the notification of thesis/dissertation titles and the appointment of examiners for 120 candidates from 13 faculties. These decisions followed recommendations from the School of Postgraduate Studies Board during its 340th meeting.

In its 539th Regular Meeting held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, the Senate also commended the School of Postgraduate Studies Board for its dedication and efficiency. The meeting ratified the list of graduating students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, as well as those from the Faculties of Education, Engineering, Environmental Design, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The Senate approved the handling of examination misconduct cases from the faculties of Arts, Engineering, Environmental Design, and Life Sciences. Expressing deep concern over the increasing incidence of examination misconduct, the Senate called for greater emphasis on preventive measures and enhanced publicity regarding examination regulations.
