Akanu Ibiam Polytechnic Issues New Directive on Textbook Payments
Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic through its Bookshop office, mandates separate payments for textbooks based on school/faculty, introduces collection schedule.
At Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, the management of the Polytechnic Bookshop has issued a directive aimed at streamlining the process of textbook payments among students. Effective immediately, students are instructed not to combine funds or pay for textbooks with students from different schools or faculties using the same teller.
This new policy comes as the Bookshop Management acknowledges the practice among students to pool money for various textbooks in order to minimize both inconvenience and bank charges. However, the management emphasized that such transactions should now strictly occur between students within the same class, department, and school. Any student found violating this directive risks complications during the textbook collection process.

Furthermore, the Polytechnic Bookshop intends to implement a structured schedule for the collection of textbooks, organized by schools and faculties. For instance, the School of Business will have designated collection days separate from those allocated to the School of Science. This scheduling initiative aims to enhance efficiency and reduce the overall stress associated with textbook procurement.
