Akeredolu Urges Support for Adekunle Ajasin University's Excellence
Addressing attendees at the 12th convocation ceremony of the institution, Governor Akeredolu, represented by the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Mr. Femi Agagu, urged philanthropists, stakeholders, and prosperous community members to collaborate with the government in expanding infrastructural growth within educational institutions across the state.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has appealed to both individuals and corporate bodies to rally behind Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, in its pursuit of becoming the leading state university in Nigeria. As the university's visitor, Governor Akeredolu reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing crucial support and encouragement to state-owned institutions, empowering them to realize their foundational visions and missions.

Acknowledging AAUA's vision to be a leading institution in research, Governor Akeredolu commended recent research endeavors by both staff and students. He emphasized the university's significant contributions to staff training and the development of skilled personnel in the state and beyond, noting its integral role in the tapestry of growth and development.
Dr. Tunji Abayomi, the Pro-Chancellor of AAUA, attributed the university's progress to collaborative efforts among stakeholders, including staff, host communities, and university leadership. Despite recent challenges, Abayomi highlighted the university's resilience and determination to achieve its goals.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olugbenga Ige congratulated graduates and assured stakeholders of the university's dedication to excellence and ambition to secure a prominent place on the international stage. The convocation saw 5,249 students awarded degrees, including 42 with first-class honors, 1,088 with second-class upper division, 2,264 in the second-class lower division, and 605 with third class.
