In a recent media chat at the Government House, Umuahia, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State revealed plans to redeploy certain civil servants currently undergoing verification to teach in state-owned schools. The move comes as a response to the staggering number of civil servants in the state, which Otti expressed concern about, stating that the civil service is overbloated.

Governor Otti emphasized that the state does not intend to terminate employment but rather aims to optimize the workforce. Those released through the ongoing verification process will undergo a crash teaching program before being assigned to schools, according to Otti.
