The Students Union Government (SUG) of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST) has issued a press release urging a swift resolution to the ongoing two-week warning strike by the institution's chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU-KUST).

The Students Union Government (SUG) of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST) has issued a press release urging a swift resolution to the ongoing two-week warning strike by the institution's chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU-KUST). 

The SUG, led by President Adamu Habibu Ado, acknowledges Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's past contributions to education in Kano State and expresses hope for his continued commitment. The press release emphasizes the need for both the Kano State Government and ASUU-KUST to find common ground through constructive dialogue. 

"Our university's academic calendar has already been disrupted," the statement reads. "A swift settlement is crucial to avoid further setbacks."

The SUG urges ASUU to consider reasonable proposals from the government and prioritize minimizing the impact on students' education. While acknowledging the union's fight for better working conditions, the press release underscores the importance of uninterrupted learning for students' futures.

Expressing its trust in the Kano State Government, the SUG emphasizes the need for a prompt and amicable resolution to ensure academic progress and maintain the integrity of the university.

This call from the student body comes amidst growing concern about the impact of the strike on the academic year. Both the Kano State Government and ASUU-KUST are yet to publicly respond to the SUG's press release.
