ALX Africa Graduates Over 2,800 Tech Learners Across the Continent

ALX, Africa’s leading tech career accelerator, has celebrated the graduation of over 2,800 learners from its Data Science program, with notable participation from Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Morocco, and Egypt.

In a significant milestone for tech education across Africa, ALX, the continent’s leading career accelerator, has graduated over 2,800 learners from its Data Science program. The program, part of ALX's first cohort, includes graduates from countries such as Ghana, South Africa, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Morocco, and Egypt. Notably, more than 800 participants hailed from Nigeria.

The graduation marks the completion of an intensive curriculum that began with a two-month ALX Foundations module, which emphasized key skills in communication, leadership, and career-building. Following this, learners delved into specializations in Data Science, covering advanced topics such as data modeling, SQL, Power BI, Python, cloud computing, and spreadsheets.

“The success of our first Data Science cohort affirms the tremendous potential within our youthful population," said Ruby Igwe, country general manager of ALX Nigeria, during the graduation ceremony in Lagos. "These graduates have demonstrated exceptional commitment and now possess the skills to lead in the tech industry. We look forward to seeing the impact they will make both in Africa and globally.”

The achievement underscores ALX's mission to bridge the tech skills gap across the continent, empowering the next generation of African tech leaders. Seun Babajide-Duroshola, country marketing manager for ALX Nigeria, emphasized that the graduation is just the beginning. “2024 promises even more impactful experiences for our learners. This year alone has been transformative for ALX Nigeria, and we believe there is no better time to begin your tech journey with us.”
