Anambra Fire Service Enhances COOU Criminology Students' Emergency Response Skills
Anambra State Fire Service recently conducted a comprehensive training program for students enrolled in the Criminology and Security Studies Department at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam Campus. The training covered crucial aspects of fire crimes, emergency and disaster management, along with practical fire-fighting techniques.
In a proactive initiative to enhance emergency response skills, the Anambra State Fire Service recently conducted a comprehensive training program for students enrolled in the Criminology and Security Studies Department at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam Campus.
The training covered crucial aspects of fire crimes, emergency and disaster management, along with practical fire-fighting techniques. The program, a mandatory part of the Industrial Training (IT) Internship for third-year students in the department, aimed to equip them with essential skills in safety and security.

Under the guidance of their Industrial Training Supervisor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Anthony Udogu, and the Head of Department, Sr. Dr. Ngozi Udoye, the students successfully completed their internships at the Anambra State Fire Service. The immersive experience provided them with valuable insights into the operational dynamics of emergency response systems.

Expressing satisfaction with the students' performance during their placements, the students received commendations from their respective IT supervisors. The eleven students who completed their internship at the Anambra State Fire Service were recognized for their dedication and commitment.
In a formal ceremony, the Director and Fire Chief of the Anambra State Fire Service, Engr. Dr. Martin Agbili, awarded the students with Certificates of Competency. This recognition not only acknowledges the successful completion of their training but also highlights their preparedness to contribute effectively to emergency response and public safety.
