Members of the APC Niger East (Zone B) Disability Movement have voiced concerns over their exclusion from the constituency projects carried out by Senator Mohammad Sani Musa, representing Niger East Senatorial District. The group's leader, Comrade Musa Inuwa, made this known in a press statement released on Monday.

Comrade Inuwa recounted the numerous contributions made by the disability movement during the 2023 general elections, highlighting their unwavering support for Senator Musa. He emphasized how they mobilized persons with disabilities across nine Local Government Areas (LGAs) and organized several programs, including press conferences, to promote the senator's achievements.

"We supported Senator Musa’s candidacy because of his history of empowering people and providing scholarships. We even created the APC Niger East (Zone B) Disability Movement to further his cause," said Comrade Inuwa.

Despite their efforts, which included producing campaign materials and engaging in grassroots mobilization, the group expressed disappointment at the senator's lack of support for persons with disabilities. Inuwa lamented that, although Senator Musa promised to appoint a member of the group as Director General of Persons with Disabilities under his campaign council, the promise was unfulfilled.

Comrade Inuwa also revealed personal sacrifices made during the campaign, including enduring several accidents. Despite these challenges, the group remained dedicated to the senator's campaign but felt let down by his post-election actions.

Inuwa criticized the senator for ignoring their requests for inclusion in Ramadan assistance and other political benefits directed toward local governments. "Is he truly a democratic leader, or a draconic one?" Inuwa questioned, urging Senator Musa to recognize the value of persons with disabilities in his administration.

The group remains committed to advocating for the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities in political representation and development projects.
