ATIKU Attends MAAUN IUU Conference As He Restates His Commitment To Continue To Invest In Education

He made this disclosure today when a high-powered delegation from the International Union of Universities (IUU) paid him a courtesy call in his Abuja residence.
The leader of the delegation which includes: Engr. Muhannis Salam, Dr. Abdullahi Yunusa Hassan, and Amb. Salman Mohd Ali, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Kher AlGabani while thanking his host for the warm reception accorded them explained that the purpose of their visit was to crave the indulgence of the Nigerian former vice president to be the guest speaker at the Romania Forum for Economic and Cultural Exchange, an event organized by the IUU billed to take place later in the year.
Prof. Dr. Mohammed Kher AlGabani who is also the President of IUU, an international academic union with over 1500 academics that is spread in about 60 countries that organizes 41 international conferences and 20 exhibitions annually, explained excitedly that the visit to the Wazirin Adamawa was in recognition of his person as an achiever.
He described Atiku as a man of many parts that is worthy of honor, a successful business mogul, an astute politician, a traditional title holder in a multicultural entity like Nigeria, and a one-time vice president of the country who has invested meaningfully in education.
He praised Atiku for establishing the American University of Nigeria(AUN) which is an outstanding tertiary institution with American styled system that focuses on critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership development.
Speaking in the same vein, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, President/founder of the Maryam Abacha American University, who accompanied the guests commended His Excellency Atiku Abubakar for his vision and invaluable contributions to the development of education in Nigeria. And while commending the milestones achieved by AUN in teaching and research, he urged Atiku to avail himself of the opportunity to be present at international conferences to enable others to benefit from his wealth of experience.
Responding, the Wazirin Adamawa who expressed his delight and surprise at the visit, thanked his guests for the visit and recognition.
He reiterated his pledge to continue to work for the development of the educational sector in the country. And while accepting the invitation to attend the proposed international conference in Bucharest, Romania he urged the organizers to continue to work to expand the frontiers of learning and knowledge globally, stating his desire to have the AUN admitted into such an international community of universities.
Furthermore, he commended Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo for his commitment to turning the Maryam Abacha Unversity into a great citadel of learning.
