Auchi Polytechnic Issues Memo on HND Admission Criteria
It emphasizes that the effective date of graduation on ND results determines whether a candidate has met the industrial training requirement, not the session of graduation
Auchi Polytechnic has issued a memo to all Heads of Departments, School Officers, and Departmental Clearance Officers regarding the qualification requirements for Higher National Diploma (HND) candidates.
The memo, dated October 25, 2024, clarifies that only candidates who have completed the required industrial training period—12 months for regular candidates and 24 months for Pass Grade candidates—are eligible for clearance. It emphasizes that the effective date of graduation on ND results determines whether a candidate has met the industrial training requirement, not the session of graduation.
The following categories of candidates are not eligible for clearance for morning programs in the current session:
1. Candidates with ND results showing a Pass Grade and an effective graduation date in 2023.
2. Candidates with an effective graduation date in 2024.
The memo urges adherence to these rules, warning that any deviation will result in sanctions.
