Taraba State University Vice-Chancellor Urges Students to Uphold Discipline and Excellence

Professor Sunday Paul Bako, Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University, Jalingo, has emphasized the importance of discipline and excellence among newly matriculated students of Salvation College for Theological Studies in Adamawa State.
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony, Professor Bako reminded students that they are ambassadors of their families and should conduct themselves with integrity. He assured them of the college's commitment to delivering quality education, with Taraba State University providing mentorship and academic support as an affiliate institution.
Professor Bako highlighted Nigeria's growing demand for well-trained theological scholars, particularly in promoting interfaith harmony and ethical leadership. He also stressed the need for theological schools to maintain rigorous academic and moral training, citing institutions like the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary and ECWA Theological Seminary as examples.
In his address, Professor Bako charged the college leadership to prioritize quality, standards, and discipline, warning against external influences that could undermine academic excellence. He emphasized the importance of instilling discipline and critical thinking in students, equipping them to become responsible leaders and nation-builders.
