Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Rector Seeks Emir's Support for Skill Acquisition and Crime Management Programs

Dr. Ibrahim Bashir Bello, Rector of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, has paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji (Dr.) Shehu Hashimi II Ibn Umar Al Amin Ibn Elkanemi, seeking support for the polytechnic's skill acquisition and crime management programs.
During the visit, Dr. Bello emphasized the importance of collaboration between the polytechnic and the emirate to address the issue of out-of-school children in Yobe State. He highlighted the polytechnic's efforts to introduce a Diploma in Crime Management, which aims to enhance intelligence gathering, crime detection, and prevention in the emirate and the state at large.
The Emir appreciated Dr. Bello's passion for education and urged him to leverage his expertise to address the polytechnic's inherited problems and move the institution forward. The Emir pledged to collaborate with the polytechnic in areas such as skills acquisition and crime management, citing the Yobe State Government's efforts to revitalize education through the Yobe Education Endowment Fund.
The visit was attended by senior officials from the polytechnic, including the Acting Bursar, Director of Open Distance and Flexible e-learning, Deputy Registrar, and Chief Security Officer.
