University of Ilorin Hosts Public Lecture on Translation in the Digital Era

The Institute of Translation Arts at the University of Ilorin held its 1st Public Lecture on Monday, April 14, 2025.

The lecture, themed "Translation in the Digital Era: Navigating AI Disruptions and Opportunities," took place at the University Auditorium.

The event featured distinguished guest speakers, including Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji, Vice-Chancellor of the African School of Economics, Abuja, and Dr. Segun Afolabi, Assistant Professor of Translation at the University of Regina, Canada.

The University of Ilorin's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole SAN, led other principal officers in attendance. He expressed appreciation to Dr. Aliy Abdulwahid Adebisi, Acting Director of the Institute of Translation Arts, for organizing the initiative.

The lecture provided a platform for experts to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on translation and explore opportunities in the field.
