Bauchi State University Renamed Sa’adu Zungur University in Honour of Late Nationalist
Bauchi State University has been officially renamed Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) following the signing of a bill by the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed. The initiative to rename the university after Sa’adu Zungur reflects a deep sense of appreciation for the sacrifices and achievements of Sa’adu Zungur in the service of the people.

Bauchi State University has been officially renamed Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) following the signing of a bill by the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed. The University Governing Council, under the chairmanship of Professor Ango Abdullahi, has approved and implemented the decision to adopt the new name.
Professor Ango Abdullahi, the Pro-Chancellor of the University, expressed the Council’s unanimous decision to adopt the new name in honour of late Nigerian nationalist and politician, Sa’adu Zungur. “The decision follows Governor Bala Mohammed’s signing of the bill to rename the institution as passed by the State House of Assembly,” he said.
