The Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK), Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, hosted a farewell reception for seven Polish students from Warsaw University, Poland, who completed their Intensive Cultural Training in Hausa studies at the Centre for Research in Nigerian Languages, Translation, and Folklore (CRNLT&F).
The reception, held on August 31, 2024, at the Vice-Chancellor's Committee Room, was attended by the university's principal officers and top management staff. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Professor Sani Muhammad Gumel, represented the Vice-Chancellor.
Professor Gumel expressed delight at the long-standing relationship between BUK and Warsaw University, commending the visiting students for their good conduct and behavior during their stay in Nigeria. He advised them to apply their knowledge of Hausa culture and traditions, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange.
The Vice-Chancellor reiterated BUK's commitment to fostering cordial relationships with international partners, describing BUK and Warsaw University as "one" in their academic endeavors.
