Bayero University Kano (BUK) recently hosted the Nigeria Customs Service's 2025 Public Relations Workshop, strengthening the existing collaboration between the two institutions.
The workshop, themed "Beyond Masters of Ceremonies: The Strategic Role of Public Relations Officers for Institutional Growth and Stakeholders' Trust," aimed to develop the skills of public relations officers through cross-fertilization of ideas with academia.
BUK and the Nigeria Customs Service have pledged to collaborate on training and institutional development, with the university's Vice Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, expressing enthusiasm about the partnership's potential benefits.
The workshop seeks to equip public relations officers with the necessary skills to drive institutional growth and stakeholder trust, with a focus on strategic communication and reputation management.
The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has led the service to remarkable achievements, including exceeding the targeted revenue generation of N5 billion to N6 trillion in 2024.
The workshop underscores the importance of public relations in institutional growth and stakeholder trust. By partnering with BUK, the Nigeria Customs Service aims to leverage academic expertise to enhance its public relations capabilities and drive organizational success.
