Benue SUBEB Assures Commitment to Quality Education Delivery in Public Schools

The Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the quality of education in public schools across the state. This declaration comes on the heels of new reforms aimed at transforming the educational landscape.

During a live broadcast of the public enlightenment program "On the Line" on Radio Benue, Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Dr. Grace Adagba, shared insights into the board's initiatives and achievements under her leadership. Accompanied by Dr. Samuel Akaa, Director of Finance and Accounts, and Dr. Karim Usman, Director of the Digital Resource Centre, Dr. Adagba emphasized the importance of modern infrastructure and instructional materials in enriching the learning experience for students.

Highlighting the ongoing Enrolment Drive Campaign, Dr. Adagba stressed the need to enroll all school-age children in line with the state's policy on free and compulsory basic education. She encouraged parents to register their children in Early Childhood Care, Development, and Education (ECCDE) centers located within public primary schools, noting that these facilities serve as crucial nurseries that lay a strong educational foundation for young learners.

She pointed out that initiatives aimed at rehabilitating street children and equipping them with valuable life skills are already showing positive results.

In terms of teaching quality, Dr. Adagba assured the public that all teachers in public schools possess at least a National Certificate in Education (NCE), qualifying them to provide high-quality instruction at the basic education level.

Listeners, including Daniel Utenan and Dominic Ubaa, praised Dr. Adagba's leadership, noting the visible improvements at SUBEB. However, they also called for the reintroduction of handcraft learning in public schools and commended the board’s supervision of teachers, which has significantly enhanced educational performance.
