Borno State University Vice-Chancellor Pledges Support to UNFPA in Combatting Gender-Based Violence

Vice Chancellor Borno State University, Professor Umar Kyari Sandabe , has assured to partner the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) in its efforts at fighting Gender based Violence in the state and the country.

Professor Sandabe gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of a 5 day Training of Trainers on' Gender Based Violence in Emergencies' holding at the Seminar Room of BOSU.

The VC who declared open the training said, Universities are platforms for dessimination of knowledge hence BOSU will do everything possible to help dessiminate aims and objectives of UNFPA. 

Professor Sandabe enjoined participants drawn from Political Science, Mass Communication and Sociology Departments of BOSU to pay absolute attention so that they can learn as well as train others.

UNFPA Humanitarian Coordinator Mr Christian Macaulay thanked the VC for prompt response to host the training.

He expressed hope that  the partnership will be sustained just like that with the AMERICAN University in Yola.
