British Council Increases IELTS Fees for Nigerians to N139,000

The British Council in Nigeria has announced a second increase in the fees for the English Language Testing System (IELTS) examinations, effective February 1, 2024. Applicants will now be required to pay N139,000 for both the Computer Academic and General Training Modules. The British Council attributed this adjustment to the rising costs associated with conducting the examinations.

In an official notice, the council stated that the change in price is a response to the increased costs of delivering the exams. The notice further emphasized that the adjustment is expected to support the continuation of a diverse range of services and comprehensive support for individuals striving to achieve their language proficiency goals.
