BSU Welcomes Radiographers Registration Council for Resource Verification

Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi, welcomed a Resource Verification Team from the Radiographers Registration Council of Nigeria (RRCN) on Monday, led by Professor J.C. Eze. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tor Joe Iorapuu, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Mike Odugbo Odey, expressed the university's readiness for the exercise.

Professor Iorapuu appreciated the Council’s decision to conduct the verification, emphasizing the importance of quality assurance in the training of radiographers. He highlighted the university's commitment to meeting the standards required for successful accreditation.

In response, Professor Eze outlined that the verification process is essential for assessing the university’s manpower, facilities, equipment, and its teaching hospital to ensure the training of radiographers who can compete globally. He assured that the assessment would be conducted objectively and in line with the Council’s guidelines.

Key university officials in attendance included Professor Linus Chia Saalu, Provost of the College of Health Sciences; Acting Registrar Mr. Ahola Orgeh; University Librarian Professor Innocent Isa Ekoja; and several others from the College of Health Sciences and Department of Radiography and Radiation Science.

The resource verification is a crucial step for Benue State University in ensuring the quality of its radiography program and producing graduates equipped for the global medical field.
