BUK and University of Warsaw Strengthen Academic Collaboration

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) and the University of Warsaw (UW) in Poland have agreed to expand their existing academic collaboration to include emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Law.

The agreement follows a meeting between officials from both universities, led by the Rector of UW, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, and the Vice Chancellor of BUK, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, at the Golden Hall of UW on Monday.

The two institutions have a nearly four-decade-long academic cooperation, which they aim to further enhance. "We had a fruitful discussion reviewing our relationship, which was first signed in 1986, and identified new areas to extend our agreement, particularly in Artificial Intelligence, a trending global field, and Law," said Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas.

The BUK delegation included Prof. Aliyu Mu'azu and Prof. Yakubu Magaji Azare, while the UW representatives included Prof. Piotr Taracha, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Prof. Nina Pawlak, and Prof. Izabela Will.

Prof. Abbas expressed appreciation for the support rendered by Prof. Nina Pawlak to BUK, describing her as a great scholar with a zeal for promoting intellectualism and academic excellence. He also acknowledged the significant role the relationship between the two universities has played in their growth and development.
