The Bayero University Kano Class of 1987 has set a shining example of alumni dedication and commitment to giving back to their alma mater.

 

In a heartwarming gesture, the class, on Friday, 3rd January, 2025 donated a cheque of NI million to support the University's indigent students scholarship scheme aimed at supporting those struggling to make ends meet.

 

This generous donation is a demonstration to the class's commitment to supporting the next generation of leaders and change-makers.

 

Presenting the cheque on behalf of the Alumni chapter, the Vice President of the forum, Hajiya Lauratu Ado Diso, a retired Permanent Secretary, expressed the forum's deep concern about the harsh economic conditions faced by many students.

"We are disturbed by the difficulties some students are facing, and we want to do our part to help," she said. Her words echoed the sentiment of the entire class, who have come together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of their younger counterparts.

 

Receiving the donation, Vice Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas was effusive in his praise for the class's generosity. "We are deeply grateful for this donation, which will go a long way in supporting our indigent students," he said.

 

The Vice Chancellor, who is also a member of the Class chapter, promised that the funds would be utilized judiciously to ensure that the maximum number of students benefit from the donation..
