BUK Students Demand Registration Extension and Other Academic Concessions

Students of Bayero University Kano (BUK) have come together to pressure the university management to extend the registration period and address other pressing academic concerns.

Led by the Students' Union Government (SUG) and supported by various student associations, including NAKSS, MSSN, CAN, NAJSS, NAES, NAESS, NAOSS, and others, the students are demanding a waiver for carryover students with no more than 2-3 courses, resolution of the loan saga, and facilitation of course changes.

In a statement, Chief Sen. Ahmad Muhammad Hussaini (Sen. Mai Atamfa), Spokesperson for the Class Reps Forum, urged students to remain hopeful and united in their quest for academic relief. He encouraged the use of logic and prayers to tackle the situation, rather than resorting to insults and division.

The students are calling on all associations in BUK to join forces with the SUG in writing to the school management and seeking external help to amplify their voices. By working together, they believe their demands will be heard and addressed.
