Bayero University VC Stresses Importance of Islamic Knowledge as Darul-Ulum Islamiyya School Graduates Quranic Scholars
The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, emphasized the pivotal role of Islamic knowledge in shaping moral conduct, urging parents to prioritize providing this education to their children.

During the Qur'anic graduation ceremony at Darul-Ulum Islamiyya school on Sunday, December 10, 2023, held at the Convocation Arena, Professor Sagir highlighted that nurturing a foundation of Islamic teachings in children would instill virtues conducive to fostering peace and harmonious coexistence in society.
Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Professor Sani Muhammad Gumel, the Vice Chancellor commended the management and staff of Darul-Ulum Islamiyya for their dedication, lauding their efforts that led to the graduation of numerous Quran memorizers and reciters.

Expressing the university's pride in the school's achievements, he assured unwavering support toward its continual development and progress.
In his address, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Professor Ahmed Iliyasu, praised the school staff for instilling discipline, attributing the institution's uniqueness to its graduates' quality.
The Principal, Malam Surajo Abdullahi Getso, revealed that among the 84 students graduating, 24 had memorized the complete Quran, while the remaining excelled in its recitation. Noteworthy among the graduates were eight married women, including one with physical challenges, showcasing the diverse and inclusive nature of the institution.

The ceremony celebrated the overall best graduating student, Malam Muhammad Garba Bala, bestowed with the title "Gwarzon Shekara." Moreover, recognition was extended to individuals such as the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, Vice Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors for their invaluable support to the school.
A particularly inspiring achievement was the graduation of Hauwa Abubakar, a 50-year-old mother of six and a Ph.D. student in Microbiology, among the Quran memorizers.
