COOU Celebrates Dr. Chukwunonso Ekesiobi On NES Gold Medal Award

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has celebrated one of its own, Dr. Chukwunonso Ekesiobi, Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor (Strategy & Policy Implementation), for emerging as a recipient of the prestigious Gold Medal Award of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES).

The recognition came during the ongoing 66th edition of the NES Annual Conference holding at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja. The award was presented to Dr. Ekesiobi by the National President of NES, Prof. Adeola Adenikinju, in acknowledgment of his meritorious service to the society and his various leadership roles within the body.

Dr. Ekesiobi currently serves as the National Students’ Liaison Officer, Special Assistant (Students Affairs) to the NES National President, Secretary of NES Southeast Zone, and Secretary of the Anambra State Chapter. His contributions have been widely commended as part of NES’s commitment to economic discourse and policy development in Nigeria.

The Department of Economics, COOU, was also well represented at the award ceremony and the conference. Staff and students, led by the Head of Department, Prof. Ogonna Ifebi, are actively engaging in conference activities as part of COOU’s visibility drive.

The Vice-Chancellor, management, staff, and students of COOU have extended hearty congratulations to Dr. Ekesiobi for this remarkable achievement, which further strengthens the university’s reputation in national and economic discourse.
