In a significant move towards fostering research excellence, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University has inaugurated its Research Management Office, with Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha FNIPR, the Acting Vice Chancellor, at the helm. The inauguration ceremony, held at the Senate Chambers, witnessed the presence of esteemed members of the University Community, Deans, and Heads of Department.

Prof. Omenugha underscored the university's unwavering commitment to research advancement, culminating in the establishment of the Research Management Office, which supplants the former Research and Innovation Office. Comprising a team of distinguished academics and scholars, the office is poised to propel research endeavors through interdisciplinary approaches, with a primary focus on securing funding for innovative projects.

Highlighting the pivotal role of funding in driving research initiatives, Prof. Omenugha delineated a comprehensive strategy aimed at tapping into diverse funding sources. These include national research funds, TETFund, grants from various agencies, private sector partnerships, and international collaborations. The overarching objective is to augment the university's prominence and sustainability in the research landscape.

Antecedent to their formal induction, the Acting Vice Chancellor delineated 20 mandates for the Research Management Office Team, underscoring the gravity of their mission. The appointed members of the team are as follows:
